Job Description


Showa Boston Institute of Language and Culture is a residential academic institution for about 300 students established by Showa Women’s University in Tokyo in 1988. Its mission is to increase students’ English proficiency, to develop their cross-cultural awareness, and to foster their personal growth. The 40-acre campus rests on a hilltop overlooking the Boston skyline. At the heart of the campus are administrative offices, residences, and a dining hall, and educational facilities. 

Position Summary

The Administrative Associate will provide support for the Director and other members of the Student Services team, keep data for the department, and will assist in many activities both on and off-campus.

Nov. 2014 Elections Open! and General Body Meeting (11/24)

Online Voting is now open for the November 2014 NEJETAA Executive Officer Elections.


Please read the candidate platforms and instructions below. You can cast your vote on the Google Form HERE.


Alternatively, you can join us and cast your vote in person at our next General Body meeting on November 24th, 2014 to be held at UNOs Restaurant in Harvard Square (22 John F. Kennedy St, Cambridge, MA 02138) from 7:00pm.

1. Each NEJETAA member is entitled to cast one ballot only.

2. You have the option to vote for a single candidate or abstain for each position

3. This poll will be open from its posting on November 17th, 2014, until 11:59PM EST on November 24th, 2014.


To be an eligible NEJETAA member (required to vote), you must:

1. Be an alumnus/alumna of the JET Program

2. Currently reside in the New England region (CT, RI, VT, NH, ME, or MA)

3. Be in good standing with NEJETAA

Become an NEJETAA Officer!

It’s time for our Fall election cycle. Want to be more involved in NEJETAA and the Japanese community in New England? 
Become an NEJETAA Officer! See below for detailed position descriptions.


We are asking for platforms of all interested candidates to be submitted for review by our membership. If you’re interested in joining the NEJETAA board, please submit a platform.

Positions up for election:

  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Membership Coordinator
  • Communications Coordinator / Webmaster

What we need from you:

*Less than 200 words
*What you want to accomplish in your time as an officer

Please don’t include any sensitive personal information (phone number, email, etc.), as your platform will be posted online for the membership to read. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just introduce yourself to everyone and tell us what you want to do! Check out platforms from last year’s elections here. 

Questions and Platform submissions can be sent to Matt (vicepres [at] nejetaa [dot] com). Platforms should be submitted by Sun. November 16th

NEJETAA will then be holding officer elections on November 24th.
